Nurses Poetry - Original Nursing Poems
National Nursing Week 2008

by Adan Lerma

Press Release  -  April 22, 2008

WEBWIRE  -  Austin, Tx. - April 22, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“Nursing.”  “Nurses Lament.”  “School Nurse.”  "Home Health Nurse."  "Sedation Nurse."

Do these titles suggest a widely proscribed nursing focus?  Following the success of the announcement of Adan’s spirited sports poems, www.adanlerma.com/blog/3175 you will also be pleased to explore the newest announcement: nursing selections of Adan Lerma’s unique poetic renderings.  www.adanlerma.com/blog/2379#occupations

Austin, Tx. - April 22, 2008 - Though not in the direct healing arts himself, after graduation from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, Adan started work as an arts person, helping patients on a locked nursing floor.  "UHCL was a great college, where I was able to build my own arts and humanities program; then, in my first job after college, in Galveston, helping people through the arts at UTMB, was itself creative and wonderful."

Humor and appreciation alternate and permeate in many of Adan's posted works, including "Home Health Nurse."  "My dad needed a lot of care at home his last few years, and the various nurses and therapists that came by were always a welcome warm sight," says Adan.

Weekly, both new and older work are posted online, encouraging the interested reader to return again. Future nursing poems include "ER Nurse" and "Geriatric Nurse".

Personalization of each poem, as a gift or for oneself, on parchment tone paper, matted with a non-acidic backing is available.  Plus a non-commercial free-use option is also offered.

Adan's next poetry news release will continue with another emphasis on occupations.  The lesson plan of poems penciled in, in time for the upcoming Teacher's Day in May, is on teachers.

Blending his feeling of the nurse's and teacher's close bond for healing and teaching, is Adan's short poem, "School Nurse."
