Artist's Comment: there's so much to this city, it almost demands a list, at least to begin with; as with my galveston poetry, there'll probably need to be a series of more targeted poems
one of the things that's always struck me about ny though, is all the lists of wonderful places to visit and experience, the incredible breadth and depth of subject offerings, from finance to play (though some may say those are themselves related :-) it is the people of the city, and the connections between them, that marks the ultimate the attraction, and makes the most enduring impact
my impressionist works of the city are among my most favorite to do; there's such a blend of nature and structure to see; where humanity has grouped itself as its best and strongest with the power of the buildings we have raised to house our hopes and dreams and most ambitious desires; including, especially for me, the desire to excel within the creative arts
though i've been told, and tend to believe, that though paris may be more the creative side of the visual arts, and new york the marketing balance for those same arts, there's no denying the big apple's has a substantial shine off the creative half :-)

A world within our worlds,
the creative heart beat of America:
Art, Money, Fashion.
Urban life.
Central Park, Broadway,
Madison Square Garden, The Met.
Cafes, bistros, and pizza.
Hotdogs.
You can wander creative canyons
of galleries and offices
or pond spotted hills in Central Park.
On the fringes of the big city,
the wind whips up memories.
One feels less alone,
back in new Old Amsterdam,
back with the people, the pulse, of America.
Back in New York City.
