I debated, during a scene of
phantom of the opera, whether to do a more frequent updates of my showing at artexpo, got scared during a scary scene, then misted up during a beautiful love song, then decided why not :-)
first, gotta say, broadway's longest running musical ever is absolutely hands down the best production sheila & i have ever seen (might say more about my extent or lack of seeing top line shows, but still true); the quality variety and impact of the set wouldn't be fair to compare to those seen in austin, i'm guessing the $ differential isn't even close; and so there's no misunderstanding, the singing was all top level w/no show wrecking disappointments
got all my artwork setup today, sheila & i spent most the whole day at
the javits ctr; got required paperwork to fill out for buyers to be able to take out stuff, checked electrical stuff, got shuttle schedules, found about a wireless connection, and of course got the paintings up
we did have to deal w/some damage during shipment, one completely destroyed frame, one cracked frame, three frames w/corner damage, and, very disheartening, a puncture on my very favored
"monet's garden, spring rain"; we dont' know what happened, but the shipping box arrived really messed up, but we had to swallow the shock and get set up and we did
it looks great; if i get a card reader, i'll try to send px of the set-up during the show, otherwise i'll do it once i'm back
also got a brief view of some of the huge amt of other art being set up, was impressed w/the lg amt of very highly polished highly accomplished technically proficient art work being set up; neither sheila nor i saw any work that "looked" like mine, i'll take that as a positive :-)
thanks ya'll,
