 "Uncle"

The Perfect Gift for That Special Person

Artist's Comment: i was fortunate enough to grow up with several great uncles from both sides of the family; and though my own dad was always there for me, they provided an extra layer of caring and guidance i've never forgotten

"the act of giving your thoughts to one you love can be as important as
the thought itself"  -  adan

Uncle

I thought I had it over you.
You weren’t my father
though you acted
like it.  So I
thought I
could do
as I pleased,
when I pleased.
Well.  You taught me
in a manner
pleasing to my soul.
You taught me
there’s a time
for playing
and a time for
listening.  You taught
me to listen to words of
wisdom from others, plus those
silent gems from my own
deepest heart.  In the
best sense then
you were
like a father to me.

Special notes:

The text presented in the photo example below is how we print, a more cursive pretty font that won't reprint well here.

Also, we adjust the font size of the title, copyright, personalization, to fit both the writing itself, and the constraints of the mat opening (window) of the 8x10's we use.
